“Jack Brereton welcomes confirmation of free hospital parking for disabled”
Stoke-on-Trent South MP Jack Brereton has this week welcomed the news that blue badge holders will be able to continue to park for free at local hospitals run by the University Hospitals of North Staffordshire Trust.
The free parking introduced as part of the Coronavirus response was due to end on the 1st of February. However, in line with the Governments promise to introduce free hospital parking for certain groups, the hospital has decided to continue to offer free parking to blue badge holders after this date.
Jack Brereton MP said:
“This is a very welcome step. I know organisations like STAND have been active in supporting better access for disabled people and have been fighting for this for many years and I am always happy to do what I can to back their efforts.
I would like to thank UNHM for taking this decision, which will make life easier for people with disabilities in Stoke-on-Trent."
