Our NHS have done an incredible job over the last year and we will never be able to thank them enough for all they have done. This years hybrid awards are particularly special after everything our health services have come through and are little way of us showing our gratitude for everything our NHS workers have done.
One way for MPs to show our appreciation to those working in our local NHS services is through the NHS Parliamentary Awards. The NHS Parliamentary Awards are a free awards programme within health and care. Whilst this a great way for MPs to nominate local NHS workers in our constituencies, it also allows MPs the chance to speak with the nominees and hear about the amazing work being done.
I was pleased to attend the 2021 NHS Parliamentary Awards with Dr Andrew Davy from the Medical Assistant Team, Royal Stoke University Hospital and Kenny Laing representing the All Age Mental Health Access Team, Crisis Care Centre, Harplands Hospital, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. Stoke-on-Trent MPs nominated both for awards and both have been awarded as regional champions for the Midlands. Well done to both teams for this amazing achievement and thank you for all they do every day.
We, as a nation, take great pride in our NHS. The last year and a half has left many of us feeling as though we have been pushed to our limit. For the NHS, this is all too true. The NHS was faced with the worst pandemic of our lifetime and without the selfless and tireless work put in by all those working within the NHS, we would be a Kingdom in peril. Again, we will never be able to thank them enough for all they have done.
Once again, congratulations to both Dr Andrew Davy, Kenny Laing and their teams for this nomination.
