Stoke-on-Trent is a city on the up. After decades of neglect, we are seizing the opportunities before us to grow and strengthen our city.
I have spoken many times about my belief in our area having true potential to shine. Along with our proud heritage and local optimism, I truly believe that we are now on course to receive the investment and improvements that we deserve.
With the help of Stoke-on-Trent City Council and our three Conservative local members of Parliament, we've worked together to put forward what we believe are the best Levelling up bids for our city.
Four bids, totalling up to a staggering £76.5 million have now been submitted to the Government. These four bids include:
- £20 million towards the City Centre Regeneration Area (East/West Precinct). This will bring in the investment needed for jobs, transport, leisure, retail, homes, and infrastructure.
- £16 million towards The Goods Yard and this will see investment in areas such as office space, city living and hotels.
- A pitch to secure funding for Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, particularly including the redevelopment of the Crown Works site. A real opportunity to transform a key gateway into Longton and support the future prosperity of our entire area.

Levelling Up is about enabling cities like ours to operate on a level playing field and unlock the full potential of our city. Now is the time to leave the empty promises of politicians before us in the past. Residents can see their local representatives pushing for the opportunities that our city has been demanding for so long.
Bids will be determined by Government later this year. Until then, I will not cease in ensuring that we have a strong voice for Stoke-on-Trent down in Westminster.
